Rob Tardik – SYNERGY (2017)
The sixth release.
It’s been two years since I reviewed ‘Moments’ and now Rob submitted me his latest album. And again he brings his own brand of contemporary jazz, with influences from different genres. The title track is also the first single, and Rob gets help from Vincent Ingala (this time not on sax) on bass, piano & drum/percussion, and from sax man Carson Freeman. It’s a melodic up-tempo track, that was co-produced by Ingala. On ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Mark Masri sings lead vocal and harmonies, and the track leans towards rock. Rob takes on flamenco for ‘Hope’, while ‘Two Much Fun’ is a lovely, relaxed track.

O’s Notes: Smooth jazz guitarist Rob Tardik is on target with Moments, his latest release. He incorporates several guest artists to enhance delivery as on “Rite of Passage” with Will Donato (sax) and “Eros” & “Stop!” with Walle Larrsson (horns). We also enjoyed “Moments In Time” featuring vocalist Alden Castillo and “Hang Time”. Tardik’s guitar melodies are crisp and on point making this a slamming contemporary set.

ROB TARDIK MUSIC
Based up in Canada, guitarist Rob Tardik is making waves in the jazz world with his 2015 CD called Moments. The 12 track CD blends smooth jazz as we’ve come to know it with somewhat of a dance music groove and even Nuevo Flamenco groove where it’s required. Some tracks, such as “Reflections” are deeper and mood enhancing in scope and “Voyageur” compares with Tommy Emmanuel but all the tracks here are of the feel good nature of guitar instrumental music.

Rob Tardik: Rite Of Passage
Rob Tardik – “Rite of Passage” (Guitardik 2E): The Canadian MOR jazz guitarist has a hit on his hands with this breezy instrumental on a couple of American Smooth Jazz charts. The track is taken from Moments, the commercially adept performer’s fifth album (distributed by Naxos) where he celebrates a breezy history of the instrument in jazz without breaking a sweat or falling into tears. He’s a smart plucker offering candy and playing to sentimentality.
